About Us
Oak and Clay is a full service home design center catering to clients and their new construction and remodel projects. We carry the leading brands in the flooring and tile industry, as well as interior finishes to complete any space. Friendly Team
Design and finding beauty in dwellings new and antique has always been a passion for Oak and Clay’s owner and designer, Rachel Watkins. “I love all things house and home. I thrive on maximizing a space for better function and design” Rachel says.
When Rachel was five years old, she was known to carry around graph paper to create and design houses. She knew she wanted to pursue her passion of design and quickly went on to complete a BS of Family Consumer Science with a focus on Interior Design at Sam Houston State University. Rachel is an allied professional of The American Society of Interior Design.
Rachel took time to raise a young family and travel for her husband, Darrin’s career. He is her number one fan and supporter of all her ideas even unconventional ones to their own home. The Watkins family moved to Jackson County in 2012 and have quickly become active in the community and the many organizations in the area. Rachel takes pride in all projects that she manages and loves building a relationship with each client she works with, because she loves both people and design.
